Is It Safe to Buy Tech With Crypto? A Practical Checklist

What protects you when you pay for tech in crypto: checking the amount and network, what we show before you pay, how problems are handled, what we never ask.

In short: It is safe if you check before you send, because a crypto payment cannot be reversed: confirm the site's address, read the full price, match the coin, network and amount, and use the copy button or QR code. We never ask for your seed phrase or for a payment to another address.

Buying with crypto can be perfectly safe, but it works differently from paying by card. A card payment can be disputed afterwards. A crypto payment is final once it is sent, so the safety comes from checking before you send. This is the checklist we would follow ourselves.

Before you pay

  1. Check the web address. Make sure you are on the real site, and bookmark it. Lookalike addresses are a common trick.
  2. Read the full price first. Before you pay, you should see the item price, the service fee, shipping and any tax. Ours are shown on every product page and in every quote.
  3. Match the coin, the network and the amount. The order page names all three. Compare them with your wallet before you confirm.
  4. Use the copy button or the QR code. Do not type an address. After you paste it, compare the first and last few characters.
  5. Send once. Each order has its own address and its own exact amount. If you are unsure, wait for the page to update before you do anything else.
  6. Keep the order ID. It is how we find your order if you ever need to contact us.

What we will never ask you for

  • Your seed phrase or private keys. No one with a legitimate reason ever needs them.
  • A payment to a different address than the one on your order page. If anyone claiming to be us sends you another address by email or chat, ignore it and contact us through the address on our site.
  • Your wallet password, or access to your device.

What we do on our side

  • Every order gets its own address and a fixed amount, held for 1 hour.
  • You do not need an account. We do not use analytics scripts or advertising trackers.
  • The order page updates by itself as the network sees your payment, so you can see where it stands without asking.
  • Your street address is erased 90 days after delivery. The privacy policy explains what we keep and why.

What happens if something goes wrong

  • You sent a little too much or too little. The order pauses and a person contacts you with the options. Nothing is lost.
  • The window closed before your payment arrived. A payment already on its way still reaches us, and a person matches it to your order by hand. It takes longer, but it is not lost.
  • You sent on the wrong network. Contact us straight away with your order ID and the transaction ID. We cannot always recover it, but we will try.
  • An item is unavailable when we go to buy it. A person contacts you with the options before anything is changed.

About refunds

Refunds are paid back in crypto, to an address you give us. The terms of sale set out when you are entitled to one. Because you pay in crypto and not by card, there is no bank dispute process, which is why we show the full price up front and why a quote for a request is fixed before you pay.

A word on price swings

Your order is priced in US dollars, and the amount of crypto is fixed when you place it. If the coin goes up or down while you send, it does not change what you owe. A stablecoin avoids the question altogether, if you would rather not think about it.

Who you are dealing with

We are a small team, and you can see how to reach us on the about page. If you want to check how an order works before you commit, start with the FAQ, or read how the service fee is worked out.

When you are ready, browse the shop, or request an item and get a fixed quote first. Nothing is charged until you choose to pay.

Not in the shop?

Send us the name or a link. We reply with one fixed price that includes our fee and shipping, and you can pay it in any coin we accept.
