How Our Service Fee Works, and Why There Is One
What you pay when we buy tech for you: the item price, a service fee of 8 percent plus 9 dollars per item, shipping and tax, and what the fee covers.
The short answer: You pay the item price plus 8 percent and a flat 9 dollars, rounded up to a whole dollar, with shipping and any tax added at checkout. The fee covers converting your crypto, buying and checking the item, packing and support.
We buy tech for people who pay in crypto, and we charge for doing it. This page explains exactly what you pay, what each part covers, and where the numbers come from, so nothing on the checkout page is a surprise.
What you pay
Your total is made of four parts:
- The item price. What the item costs when we buy it from the retailer.
- Our service fee. 8 percent of the item price, plus 9 dollars per item.
- Shipping. A flat price for your region, shown at checkout.
- Tax, where the rules for your country require it. It is shown as its own line.
To see how the fee scales, take an item that costs 100 dollars. The percentage part is 8 dollars, and the flat part adds 9 dollars on top. On a cheaper item the flat part matters more, and on a dearer one the percentage does.
Every product page shows the item price and the fee as separate lines. A quote for a request shows the same breakdown.
What the fee covers
- We pay first. We buy the item with our own money before your crypto has settled, and we carry that cost until it does.
- The buying itself. Finding the item, ordering it, handling returns of anything that arrives wrong, and checking it before it ships.
- Packing and sending it. Packaging and the courier handoff.
- Handling crypto. Receiving your payment, converting it, and dealing with a payment that arrives a little off or late.
- Support. A person who answers when you contact us about an order.
- Running a real business. Bookkeeping, and the tax we owe on each sale.
What the fee does not include
- The network fee you pay to send your crypto. That goes to the network, not to us.
- Customs duties and import taxes that your country charges at the border. The shipping page explains how we handle them.
About the exchange rate
We price everything in US dollars, then convert your total into the coin you choose at the market rate when you place the order. You see one exact amount, fixed for 1 hour. We do not add a hidden margin to the exchange rate. The fee is the fee shown above.
Why a percentage plus a flat amount
A flat fee alone would be too little on an expensive item, where we carry more cost and more risk, and too much on a cheap one. A percentage alone would be too little to cover the fixed effort of handling a small order. The two together are fairer across the range.
For items that are not in the shop
Request the item and we reply with a fixed quote that shows the same breakdown: item price, service fee, shipping and tax. The quote is valid for a limited time, shown on the quote page. If you accept, you pay in crypto as with any other order. If you do not, nothing happens and nothing is charged.
